Full Moon Loose Tea
In Ayurveda medicine, Peony is considered tri-doshic (able to balance all three doshas- Vata, Pitta & Kapha). This makes it a great tonic plant for all of us. It’s medicine is powerful! Peony is an antispasmodic, blood tonic, liver tonic, Antipyretic (reduces fever), relives tension, helps menstrual cramps and relieves inflamed skin. It always reminds me of the full moon with its qualities and color.
I harvest the flowers in the spring from my heirloom white Peonies, along with a few other Ayurvedic adaptations such as Rose, Tulsi and a touch of cardamom. It’s one of the most heavenly tasting teas when you add a bit of nut milk and honey to it.
Make your own ritual on a full moon with this tea blend by steeping it in boiling hot water in a safe glass container and set out under the full moon for one nightto charge its healing properties. You can then keep this infusion in your refrigerator for about a week, reheat it as a warm tea or add ice as a cool drink.
You’ll receive 1.5 oz of this tea blend which will make approximately 22 cups of tea, depending on how strong you like your tea.
What are Doshas? In Ayurveda they are our “body types”. Your body type summarizes the 'type' of conditions and imbalances that frequently challenge your health & wellness. Using body type, you can also identify remedies likely to improve your strength and resiliency. I use this Ayurvedic knowledge I’ve practiced for 25 years in conjunction with my herbalism to help decipher what plant medicines might work best for your health.
