Monogrammed Muffins. ©These are my husband's favorites… Healthy, gluten free, naturally sweetened jalapeño cornbread. The monogramming was a last minute and happy accident because my jalapeños broke. 😂✔️ #markyourmuffin
Recipe: * 3 Tbsp melted ghee (or if vegan, use butter alternative or preferably something healthier like coconut oil - not as creamy but...) * 1/3 c unsweetened applesauce * ¼ c honey * I add a little Stevia (to taste) or you can use 1/8 cup coconut sugar * 1 large egg (leave out if vegan, they will just not be as fluffy. Or use vegan egg substitute like flax egg or plantain seed "egg") * 1 cup almond milk (or other nut milk) + 1 Tbsp vinegar * 1 cup non-gmo cornmeal * 2/3 GF flour (such as Bob Red Mill all purpose gf flour) * ½ tsp salt * ½ tsp baking soda * 2 jalapeños, seeded and divided (1 minced for batter, 1 sliced to form your chosen letter or symbol for muffin top) Instructions: ~Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, and lightly grease muffin pan with coconut oil or olive oil. ~Put melted “butter” in a mixing bowl. ~Add applesauce, stevia, coconut sugar, honey, (egg if using) and whisk to combine. ~Next add 1 of the jalapenos, salt, baking soda, (diced and seeded) and whisk. ~Pour in nut milk and stir again until combined. ~Now add cornmeal and GF flour of your choice and stir. If it looks too thin add a little more flour. Too thick, add more nut milk. ~Pour batter evenly into 12 muffin tin pan and top each with a slice of jalapeño. You can get creative with your monogram here! ~Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Remove from oven and let cool for a few mins before serving. ~yum ~these will last for several days in airtight container.

Let's talk about thermography and MammographyThermography is non-invasive and a great alternative or complimentary to mammograms. One of the ways I monitor my breast and lymph health is through toxic-free thermography imaging. I check myself yearly with a women’s wellness session with my thermographer to check not just my breasts but my whole body for any inflammation or other issues.
In the age-old battle against cancer, mammography was, for a while, rightly regarded as the most effective method of identifying cancer in the breast. But research and technology move on quickly and for some time now there have been other options that provide an earlier and more accurate indication of cancer risk. This includes Thermography and ultrasonography. The simple fact is that a mammogram, even at 100% accuracy, can only ever tell you that you already have the disease. It’s not in any way preventative. And it’s not 100% accurate, either. I can vouch for this statistic too. When I did my first (and last) mammogram I actually HAD BREAST CANCER AT STAGE 2 (of course I didn't know it at the time), and the mammogram came back NEGATIVE. In fact, there is now strong evidence to suggest that the majority of women would have a lower risk of cancer if they didn’t attend mammography screening. This was the conclusion of a significant piece of research called "Screening for Breast Cancer Using Mammography" which was carried out by the highly-respected, globally-renowned and – crucially – completely independent Cochrane Institute. In short, what the report makes clear is that for every 2000 women who undergo mammography regularly for ten years, only one death will be prevented whilst ten otherwise healthy women will become cancer patients as a direct result of the mammography screening method. Put another way, the law of averages suggests you have a greater chance of remaining healthy if you don’t undergo a regular mammogram. The truly frightening thing about the report is that very few women are told research exists to suggest that regular mammography – peddled by the cancer industry as something of a silver bullet in the war on breast cancer – can actually cause the very disease you’re trying to protect yourself from. As I’ve said before, other countries are already in the process of reviewing whether mammography has a place in modern cancer care. Switzerland has already discontinued its use as a screening tool. Yes, times they are a changing. It's important to empower ourselves with knowledge and know what our options are when it comes to our health. We are our own best health advocates. That's what inspired OWN YOUR OHM HEALTH since the beginning. Check out Victoria Bailey to discover Thermography for yourself if you live in the Nashville area. Tell her I sent you! (and no, she doesn't pay me for endorsement. I just truly trust her) (source: Dr. Nyjon Eccles) As the temperatures continue to rise in most of the country, Own Your Ohm Health has moved into "Summer Shipping" mode. What does this mean and why is it necessary? Please read on as I explain.
WHAT IS SUMMER SHIPPING? While many companies may discontinue shipping of products such a Body Butters, salves and balms during the hot months, I will continue offering it. Some of my most popular items are my Moon Cream and Backyard Balm and not only would I be unhappy to not be able to offer them during these hot months, many of my customers might be upset too! Therefore, I have made some accommodations to make shipping certain items that might melt during the summer more feasible, and therefore you will note a small increase in shipping or the product itself to accommodate its safe travel to you. All packages that contain products that might melt and are shipped during high heat times will be packed with thermal wrap and contain gel ice packs (These are reusable so that you can get some use out of them too!) All summer orders containing these products will also be shipped USPS Priority Mail so as to get it to you as quickly and efficiently as possible. Products will ONLY be shipped on a day that ensures the shortest travel time to you. If you are 2 days priority mail from me, I will not ship later in the week than Wed early afternoon so that you receive it by Friday. If you are 1 day priority mail from me, I will ship up to Thursday morning. This is to ensure that your package is not sitting in a hot warehouse all weekend. WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE? As a natural product formulator, I love creating skin and body care products. As I keep things as natural as possible, my products are affected by temperature...I will not add synthetic ingredients that will make it more temperature stable. It is more important to me that the products have the highest concentration of skin loving, vitamin loaded, decadent ingredients possible. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP? Glad you asked! I can only control my own ways that I offer it for survival in the summer heat. I can't control what happens once USPS drops it off to you. Mailboxes can get insanely hot in the summer, as can packages left out on a porch, in the sun, on a hot day. I ask that you keep an eye on tracking so you can grab your package as soon as it arrives or that you request it be shipped to your work if no one will be home to take it out of the heat. MY PRODUCTS MELTED ANYWAY! HELP! If your product does melt or get soft, in spite of the efforts I have made to prevent it, please don't worry! A melted product is not a bad product...I promise. If your MOON CREAM body butter arrived melted and in liquid form simply gently shake it or use a chop stick to stir to redistribute the oils and then place in the fridge over night and it'll go back to solid. It may look a little different but it will still be the same super nourishing product. It will still go on easily, sink in quickly and leave your skin feeling and smelling amazing. If you received the BACKYARD BALM or HONEY LIPS and they are soft or melted, simply let it sit on the counter for a few hours and it will solidify again. WHICH PRODUCTS DOES THIS AFFECT? MOON CREAM, BACKYARD BALM and LIP BALMS are the most sensitive to heat of all the products I offer. But as I grow my product line you may see other salve and balm like products such as deodorants, lip and cheek stain balms, etc. TIPS FOR CARE AFTER DELIVERY Now that you've gotten your products safe and sound, here are a couple notes for caring for your products after you have received them.... 1. DO NOT LEAVE PRODUCTS IN CAR! Cars get VERY hot in the summer and the excessive heat can quickly melt products. The continual melting and hardening as you crank up the air conditioning and then melt again as it heats up after you leave again is not good for the product. 2. KEEP PRODUCT AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. This can also change the texture and stability of your product, and even melt it in some cases. Some of the oils used are very delicate and sensitive to the UV rays from the sun. It's best to keep products in cool places out of direct sunlight. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING as I try and keep up with my small batch business in the most efficient and quality way I know how to get you TRUE products. I appreciate your support so much, my loves. xo Kim |
