An Intimate Retreat Experience

Relax. Transform. Reconnect.

When Grandmother Ayahuasca calls, it’s not always convenient.
She doesn’t arrive polished or perfectly timed.

She arrives like truth tapping at your ribs.

She arrives and stirs something deep in the body… a quiet knowing that it may be time to shed, to soften, to listen more honestly.

If you feel that tapping, I am gathering a very small intimate group (no more than 8-10 people) in the jungle and along the Caribbean sea in Cahuita, Costa Rica for 8 days and 7 nights of deep ceremonial immersion.

This is not spectacle or spiritual tourism.
This is sacred work held intimately, intentionally, raw and without performance.

We will sit with Grandmother Ayahuasca, Kambo, and ancestral practices inside a carefully woven container. Three ceremonies. Integration. Ocean swims. Jungle air. Nourishing food. Space to unravel. Space to rebuild.

Part of the medicine is not just the ceremony. It’s the surroundings of nature herself: The jungle holds us. The ocean restores us.

I don’t lead this work lightly.
I lead it as a woman who has sat with the medicine in reverence for years. As a facilitator trained in the Shipibo tradition in the Amazonian jungle of Pucallpa, Peru under indigenous Shipibo-Conibo shamans Maestro Francisco and Maestra Tessy. As a woman who has walked through beauty, grief, and transformation. As a woman who has walked through fire in her own life and returned steadier after sitting with grandmother and her gifts.

Alongside me are my beloved co-facilitators (whom are also my teachers) Alexandra and Roberto Tentiu of Inner Flight Retreat Healing Center, whose beachfront sanctuary becomes our ceremonial home for the week.
Alexandra, Roberto and I trained together in Peru with our teachers.
Together, we hold this container with steadiness, trauma-aware presence, safety and deep respect for Pachamama and the sacred intelligence of plant medicine.

This retreat is not about escaping your life.
It is about meeting it more honestly.

It is for the ones who are ready to shed what no longer fits.
For the leaders, the healers, the seekers who know there is another layer waiting to be uncovered.

The jungle holds you differently.
The ocean softens you differently.
The medicine speaks directly.

If you feel the call, trust it and we will meet you with steadiness, integrity and ceremony… the kind of grounded devotion that changes people.

Like the earth herself… firm, patient, and unwavering.

MEET OUR FAMILY

Your Facilitators:

Picture
Kim Collins
Medicine Woman, Shipibo-Conibo Apprentice, Kambo + Ayahuasca Facilitator, Hypnotherapist, Energy Medic, Musician, Holistic Health Coach and Founder of Own Your Ohm Health and Ajna Wellness Retreat in Nashville TN

I didn’t come to this work from one path alone.

I come to it as a woman who has devoted her life to the study and practice of healing — across traditions, across lands, and through lived experience.

For years, I have guided retreats and ceremonial spaces around the world, holding containers for deep transformation through plant medicine, ritual, and integrative healing work. My foundation includes training in the Shipibo tradition in Pucallpa, Peru under Maestro Francisco and Maestra Tessy, where I was immersed in the discipline, devotion, and responsibility required to walk this path with integrity.

My work extends beyond ceremony alone.

I am a Kambo facilitator, a hypnotherapist, and a holistic health practitioner with a focus on natural approaches to healing, including cancer support protocols. I hold a deep respect for the body’s innate intelligence and the role that both ancient and modern practices can play in restoration.

I am also a writer and musician — and these creative expressions are woven into how I hold space. Sound, language, and presence are not separate from the work; they are part of how transformation moves.

In Nashville, Tennessee, I steward a retreat and healing space where I host gatherings, ceremonies, and intimate group work throughout the year. This space, like all of my work, is rooted in intention, safety, and reverence.

I identify as a High Priestess and a medicine woman — a role I carry with humility and responsibility. My lineage includes Native American ancestry, and while my path has been shaped by many traditions, I walk it with deep respect for the origins of the medicines and teachings I share.

My approach is grounded, intuitive, and trauma-aware. I am not here to lead you away from your life — I am here to help you meet it more honestly, more clearly, and more fully.

This work is not something I visit occasionally.
It is how I live.

And when you step into this space, you will be met with care, strength, and the kind of steady presence that allows real depth to unfold.

Alexandra & Roberto Tentiu
Founding Partners of Inner Flight Retreat, Shipibo-Conibo Apprentices, Ayahuasca & Kambo Facilitators

Picture

Co-Founders, Inner Flight Healing Center

Alexandra and Roberto have devoted many years of their lives to walking the medicine path with seriousness, humility, and discipline. As a committed couple and ceremonial partners, they work with Ayahuasca weekly, stewarding their beachfront sanctuary in Cahuita as a living temple for healing.

Their home — Inner Flight Healing Center — is not simply a retreat space. It is where they pray, where they practice, and where they hold ceremony regularly for seekers from around the world. This land, this ocean, this jungle… it is their daily devotion.

Like me, they trained in Pucallpa, Peru under Shipibo Maestro Francisco and Maestra Tessy of the Shipibo-Conibo lineage. Their apprenticeship was rigorous and rooted in tradition, and they carry the teachings forward with integrity and deep respect for the lineage.

Alexandra brings a grounded, compassionate presence to ceremony, weaving strength and softness seamlessly. Roberto holds a steady, protective masculine field — calm, attentive, and deeply attuned to the space.

Together, they create a container that is both powerful and safe — one shaped by lived practice, partnership, and years of dedication to the medicine.

To sit in ceremony in their home is to be held by people who do this work not occasionally… but as a way of life.

RETREAT LOCATION

Picture
Nestled deep in the lush jungles on the Caribbean Coast in the southern part of Costa Rica lies Puerto Viejo and Cahuita.
Cahuita is just north of Puerto Viejo, is not a touristy area and is untouched by large resorts and big hotels. It truly is a raw and largely unspoiled area that has one of the largest National Parks in the country.

Accommodations:

Welcome to paradise!
We will be staying at the beautiful Goddess Garden Eco Retreat. There is a beautiful jungle pool, incredible jungle gardens with walking trails and this land is steward to the oldest tree in all of Costa Rica called the Goddess Tree. It is located right across the street from the beach and near Cahuita National Park.
The rooms are based on double accommodations. Private rooms may be available upon request with an added fee. Please inquire if interested (subject to availability if the resort has any available)

We will be settling into this beautiful sanctuary as our base home for the retreat. However, for ceremony days we will be staying overnight in the Maloca (a traditional covered round ceremonial structure) just up the beach at Inner Flight Healing Center. And believe it or not, you do not miss the sleep doing late ceremony. It's traditional to start in the late hours of the eve. And sleeping outdoors in the protected maloca, hearing the sunrise howler monkeys and the night jungle sounds is simply magical.

We will have our integration days to relax back at our home at the Goddess Garden to be lazy by the pool, enjoy the beach, or take nature hikes in the jungle.

It is a very important way to integrate before heading back to the hustle and bustle of the city, flight and then back home to normal life. During these days you can do anything at all that you would like... lounge by the pool, walk on the beaches, swim in the ocean, read in a hammock, go visit Puerto Viejo for shopping and other excursions I can help you plan. I also offer support during these days with guided meditations, yoga, and other elements that we will experience together. I also will provide you with transportation to go on excursions with me. All included in the price.
Almost everyone that comes to these retreats wish they had stayed for these extra days! What is Ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca is an ancient Amazonian brew traditionally used for spiritual and medicinal purposes made by brewing Banisteriopsis caapi (a vine) and Psychotria viridis (chacruna leaves) together.  Research suggests it may offer several psychological and neurological benefits, particularly for mental health conditions that have been resistant to standard treatments.
Ayahuasca is more than a plant medicine –  it is an ancient intelligence encoded in nature, designed to interact with human consciousness in ways modern science is only beginning to discover. Unlike synthetic psychedelics, which often act as mind-altering agents, ayahuasca works as a mirror and teacher, guiding individuals through layers of their subconscious with precision.
What makes an ayahuasca retreat different from other therapeutic experiences is its ability to dismantle deeply embedded belief systems. It doesn’t just show you your pain or unresolved trauma; it offers a perspective from outside your conditioned mind, allowing you to see yourself as an observer rather than a victim. Indigenous traditions have long understood this, treating ayahuasca not as a drug but as a sentient guide—a spirit that teaches, corrects, and realigns individuals with their true path.
Unlike mainstream psychology, which often treats symptoms, ayahuasca therapy addresses the root cause by stripping away illusion and reconnecting people with their essence. But the key to its effectiveness lies in integration—how one applies its lessons in daily life. Without this, the visions remain just that—visions, without real impact.

Ayahuasca: Transformative Impacts on Mind, Body, and Spirit

Ayahuasca is often perceived as a mystical shortcut to enlightenment or a powerful tool for momentary breakthroughs. But the true magic of an ayahuasca experience lies not in the ceremony itself, but in its long-term impact—how it rewires perspectives, reshapes behaviors, and continues to unfold its lessons long after the last cup is consumed. Unlike conventional therapies that require years of work, a single ayahuasca retreat can compress profound psychological insights and emotional breakthroughs into an accelerated process, creating ripples that transform lives over months and even years.

While mainstream discussions focus on the immediate intensity of an ayahuasca ceremony, few dive deep into what happens after—the unspoken transformations that take place in the quiet moments of everyday life. Those who integrate the lessons properly report an expanded capacity for resilience, a deepened understanding of their subconscious patterns, and an ability to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity. Plant medicine, when approached with reverence and commitment, does not just provide answers—it teaches how to live the answers.

Mental and Psychological Benefits
  • Rapid Depression Reduction: Studies, including those on treatment-resistant depression, show that ayahuasca can lead to rapid and sustained improvements in mood.
  • Anxiety and PTSD Management: It may reduce anxiety symptoms and help individuals process and heal from trauma.
  • Overcoming Addiction: Research suggests potential in treating addiction to substances like alcohol, tobacco, and cocaine, with participants reporting reduced cravings and insights into self-destructive behaviors.
  • Increased Mindfulness and Emotional Awareness: Ayahuasca enhances mindfulness, acceptance, and the ability to take a detached, non-judgmental view of one's own thoughts.
  • Processing of Repressed Memories: Users often experience a "catharsis" or "purge" of emotional baggage, allowing them to process traumatic events in a new, constructive way.
  • Improved Personality Traits: Some studies indicate that regular users report increased self-confidence, compassion, and a greater sense of purpose.

Physical and Neurological Benefits
  • Neurogenesis and Brain Health: Components in the brew (specifically harmine and DMT) have been found in test-tube studies to stimulate the growth of neural stem cells and promote brain plasticity.
  • Anti-inflammatory and Antimicrobial Properties: Studies indicate that ayahuasca may have anti-inflammatory effects and can combat certain bacterial strains.
  • "Cleansing" and Detoxification: The "purge" (vomiting, nausea, or diarrhea) is seen in traditional contexts as a physical and energetic detoxification, leaving participants with a sense of renewed vitality.

Spiritual and Personal Growth
  • Deepened Connection to Nature: Many users report a lasting, deeper connection with nature and all living things.
  • Spiritual Awakening: Experiences are often described as connecting to a higher power, ancestors, or a deeper sense of meaning in life.
  • Perspective Shifts: It allows individuals to see their lives from a new perspective, facilitating the dismantling of personal ego and negative, ingrained behavioral patterns.

This will be mostly free time for you to integrate, but I will offer daily activities and group circle.

IMPORTANT PICK-UP & DEPARTURE INFORMATION:

PICK UP:
To make sure that you can join us at the designated pick-up point on the first day of the retreat, we highly recommend booking your flight and arriving in San Jose, Costa Rica, at SJO Airport ONE DAY before the retreat start date. That means booking your flight to arrive in San Jose on Friday September 4th. This will allow ample time for your flight in case of flight disruptions or delays and keep you from having to fly a super late/early red eye flight. I will send you the Hotel information that we will all stay together at in San Jose on September 4th so that you are able to ensure you make the pick up shuttle the next morning. You are welcome to stay at a hotel of your choosing, but I highly recommend staying in the hotel I will be suggesting upon registration.
If you arrive on the morning of the 5th and miss the shuttle you will need to make your own arrangements to get to Cahuita which is approxiately a 4-5 hour drive from San Jose. The Hotel stay on the 4th is not included in the retreat package.

DEPARTURE:
We will arrange for your private transportation to San Jose, Costa Rica on September 12th. We suggest that you book your flight home on the 13th and stay the night in San Jose Before your flight out on the 14th OR make sure you choose a late departing flight from San Jose on the 12th. The shuttle will leave approximately 8 or 9 am on the 12th so if you pick a flight home on this day make sure it is a late afternoon or evening flight.

***I actually would recommend you extend your stay in Cahuita or Puerto Viejo for integration for a few days or longer AFTER the retreat extension if you are able. I can help you with planning this and give you ideas/suggestions once you register. I will personally be staying for an extra week after the retreat.

Safety Considerations, Preperation, Contraindictions + Integration:

Working with plant medicine is profound. It deserves thoughtful preparation and careful integration.

Every participant in Light Seekers completes a detailed application and screening process prior to acceptance. This allows us to ensure that the group is aligned, that the work is appropriate, and that everyone’s physical and psychological safety is honored.

Once accepted, you will receive clear preparation guidelines designed to support your body, nervous system, and emotional readiness. We encourage intentional dietary preparation, lifestyle adjustments, and reflection practices before arrival. I will help you every step of the way with these guidelines.

During the retreat, our container is intentionally small. This allows for close attention, trauma-aware facilitation, and steady support throughout each ceremony and integration day.

Integration is not an afterthought. It is a core part of the journey.

Throughout the week, we hold dedicated integration circles and provide space for rest, journaling, nature immersion, and community processing. After the retreat, we offer continued guidance and integration support so that what unfolds in ceremony can be woven responsibly into your daily life.

Own Your Ohm Health and Inner Flight Retreat Center prioritizes the safety and well-being of participants in all ceremonies. We will provide medical screenings to assess potential risks, including physical and psychological conditions.

Our commitment is not only to profound experiences --
but to grounded, lasting transformation.
We believe in the transformative power of Aya but also promote safety and responsibility.
Our main goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to explore the healing potential of this plant medicine.

Psychological:
Although grandmother Aya is known for its beneficial psychological effects, it’s crucial to remember that people with certain serious psychological conditions, such as schizophrenia or psychosis, may experience negative effects.
Hence, those individuals should avoid this medicine. Additionally, those with a history of suicidal ideation or dis-associative episodes require extra caution. Please know that if you have bi-polar, depression or other mental conditions you are totally safe and in many cases the ceremony can be helpful.

Physical:
Individuals with SERIOUS high blood pressure, cardiac disease, or advanced liver disease should exercise caution before consuming the medicine. Ayahuasca has been shown to raise blood pressure and may cause complications for those with pre-existing serious heart conditions.

Mental Health History:
To ensure safe and effective treatment, it’s crucial to share with me complete and accurate information about any previous or existing mental health conditions, regardless of medication use..

Safety Considerations Regarding Kambo:

Providing a complete and transparent health history, including any supplements, drugs, plants, or substances consumed within two weeks of treatment, is essential.

To address any concerns about the treatment process, it is highly recommended to schedule a consultation.
People with any of the following are not recommended for treatment:
  • Pregnancy or chance of being pregnant
  • Drug consumption within two weeks before or after treatment (including MDMA, MDA, ecstasy, molly, heroin, ketamine, and party drugs)
  • Breastfeeding women
  • Chemotherapy or have had radiation treatments within six weeks before or after Kambo treatment.
  • Patients recovering from surgery
  • Seriously low or high blood pressure that requires medication
  • If you have a chronic illness, please get in touch with us beforehand to plan out the best path for you. This medicine will likely greatly support you.

Contraindications for Kambo (if you have or have experienced in the past):
  • Serious heart problems, heart disease, bypass, or enlarged heart
  • Organ Transplant, stem cell
  • Stroke
  • Aneurism or blood clots, or medication for varicose veins
  • Addison’s Disease, kidney or liver disease
  • Epilepsy
